Grab-and-go day plans. Adjust for heat, waits, and Sunday mornings.

One Perfect Day

Morning: Start at B. Matthew's for breakfast in the historic district. After that, walk south to Forsyth Park — see the fountain, then loop the park (shade is thin midday).

Late morning: Head up Bull Street, the spine of Savannah's historic district. You'll pass through several of the famous squares — Monterey, Madison, Chippewa (the Forrest Gump bench square), and Wright. Stop at The Coffee Fox for a pick-me-up.

Lunch: Grab a table at Treylor Park on Broughton Street for creative Southern comfort food. Walk off lunch by browsing the shops on Broughton — hit Leopold's Ice Cream, Paris Market, and Savannah Bee Company.

Afternoon: Hop on the Old Town Trolley for a narrated loop through downtown. Or if you'd rather go slow, this is the time for a carriage ride through the squares.

Evening: Head down to River Street for sunset over the Savannah River. Grab dinner at Vic's on the River, then finish the night at Lulu's Chocolate Bar for handmade desserts and cocktails.

Three Days, No Regrets

Day 1 — History & the Squares

Breakfast at Clary's Cafe (the Midnight in the Garden spot). Spend the morning walking the historic squares from south to north. Visit the Mercer-Williams House and Chippewa Square. Lunch at The Olde Pink House. Afternoon at the Jepson Center or Telfair Academy. Evening: dinner at The Grey, then a ghost tour.

Day 2 — Arts, Cafes & Broughton

Morning coffee at The Coffee Fox. Browse the SCAD Museum of Art. Walk Broughton Street end to end, hitting Paris Market, Savannah Bee Company, Leopold's, and 24e Design Co. Lunch at Collins Quarter. Afternoon: explore the Starland District and grab something at Back In The Day Bakery. Dinner: Husk.

Day 3 — Tybee Island Escape

Drive or rideshare 25 minutes east to Tybee Island. Morning on the beach, then climb the Tybee Lighthouse for the view (stairs; plan for heat). Lunch at a beachside spot on the island. On the way back, stop at Wormsloe State Historic Site for the famous mile-long avenue of oaks. Back in town, wind down at The Sentient Bean near Forsyth Park.

Kids & Family

Savannah is surprisingly great for families. Here's a kid-tested plan:

Solid with kids: Leopold's Ice Cream (expect a line). Wormsloe's oak avenue is an easy win for all ages. A carriage ride covers a lot of ground without a long walk in the heat.

Beach day: Tybee Island is a 25-minute drive and has a great, relaxed beach. The Marine Science Center there is perfect for curious kids.

Food that works for everyone: Treylor Park has creative food that appeals to adults but also has great options for picky eaters. Two Cracked Eggs does a solid family breakfast.

Pro tip: Savannah's squares have open green space that's perfect for kids to run around between stops. Build in park time and everyone stays happy.
